MURASAKI PENGUIN PROJECT TOTSUKA (MPP Totsuka) は横浜市の戸塚にあるパフォーミングアーツ＆マルチメディアアートのスペースです。アーティストグループMurasaki Penguinが運営し、実験的なパフォーマンス、展覧会、ワークショップ、アーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラムを開催しています。
大洋建設株式会社が地域貢献の一環として、国内外のアーティスト支援と地域コミュニティに新たな体験を提供することを目的として2022年9月にオープンしました。
この施設には、地上に保育所、その下にMPP Totsukaスタジオがあります。隈研吾建築都市設計事務所によるユニークな最先端の建築設計が施されています。戸塚の街と森の中に点在するフレーベルの積み木をデザインコンセプトとしています。鋭角的なジオメトリーは、開放感と自由に満ちた未来への希望を込めて空に向かって伸びています。
MURASAKI PENGUIN PROJECT TOTSUKA (MPP Totsuka) is a performing and multimedia arts space located in Totsuka, Yokohama, Japan. The space is run by artist group Murasaki Penguin and hosts experimental performances, exhibitions, workshops, and an artist-in-residence program.
Taiyo Construction Co., Ltd. opened the facility housing MPP Totsuka in September 2022 as an element of their corporate social responsibility strategy with the aim of supporting the arts and offering new experiences to the local Totsuka community.
The facility includes a daycare centre on the ground level and MPP Totsuka’s studio below, with a unique cutting edge architectural design by Kengo Kuma and Associates. The design concept is based on Floebel blocks being scattered across the forest and city of the Totsuka area. Geometric shapes reach towards the sky with the hope of openness and a freedom-filled future.
