ケルビン・ウォン
マレーシアの演劇演出家、博士課程のケルビン・ウォンは、7月の1カ月間Murasaki Penguinの元でインターンシップ及びリサーチプロジェクトでMPP Totsukaに滞在する。黒田杏菜とカークパトリックデイビットがメンターとしてメディアとテクノロジーのトレーニングを受け、自身の研究プロジェクトを進める。

MPPT Artist In Residence & Placement in July 2024
Kelvin Wong
In July, Malaysian theatre maker and first-year doctoral candidate Kelvin Wong will spend a month with Murasaki Penguin through a placement and residency. He will train with MP on media and technology while being mentored by Anna and David for his research project.

ケルビン・ウォンは、クアラルンプールパフォーミングアーツセンターのレジデントディレクター (2009 – 2012) およびクアラルンプール設立演出家集団Theatresauceの芸術監督 (2016 – 2023) を務める。デポール大学演劇学校美術学修士号取得 (2015)、 その後2023 年までマレーシアのサンウェイ大学で教師を務める。現在イギリスエクセター大学とブリストル大学に在籍しており、イノベートUK芸術人文科学研究評議会から資金提供を受けている。彼の実践研究では、マルチメディアパフォーマンス、異文化ドラマツルギー、デジタル世代のための持続可能な創作についての交差点を調査している。2024年7月末にMPP Totsukaで発表されるプロジェクトは、日本、マレーシア、イギリスからコラボレーターが集結する。

Kelvin Wong was director-in-residence at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (2009 – 2012) and the Artistic Director of Theatresauce (2016 – 2023), a director-focused collective which he founded in Kuala Lumpur. He is an MFA graduate from The Theatre School at DePaul University (2015) and has since taught with Sunway University, Malaysia up until 2023. Kelvin is currently with the Universities of Exeter and Bristol and is funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council. His practice research investigates the intersections of intermedial performance, transcultural dramaturgy, and sustainable devising practices with and for a digital generation. His upcoming project, presented in MPP Totsuka at the end of July 2024, brings together collaborators from Japan, Malaysia, and the UK.
