小林勇輝「The Wing Chun Project」（English Information below)
“「The Wing Chun Project（詠春拳プロジェクト）」とは、中国南部武術「詠春拳」を起点とした学際的パフォーマンス作品です。詠春拳は、少林寺の僧侶・拳法家であった女性によって創始されたと言われています。自分より強い体躯の相手からの家庭内暴力、性的暴力に対抗するために狭い空間での体捌きに特化した技として、数々の戦いの中で密かに発展しました。その後、日中戦争や国共内戦のために佛山から香港に亡命した祖師「葉問（イップ・マン）」の弟子たちよって世界的に普及されました（＊起源には諸説あり）。現在は、映画のアクションシーンや格闘技などにも広く取り入れられています。”
2025年度ACYフェローの小林勇輝さんはMPP Totsukaに滞在し、2025年8月23日（土）ワークショップ、9月7日（日）試演会を行います。
1. 「The Wing Chun Project」ワークショップ
今回のワークショップでは、詠春拳の成り立ちや歴史背景を共有しながら、実際に基礎的な手法を参加者同士で体験していただきます。そして、現代における詠春拳を「実践的な攻防を学び、自身を鍛錬する術」としてだけでなく、「相手との接触を通したコミュニケーションの方法」として再解釈を試みます。

2. 「The Wing Chun Project」試演会
今回の試演会では、2019年より詠春拳の鍛錬・リサーチを重ねてきた本プロジェクトの現在地を共有します。これまでの訪問先や交流を辿るレクチャーや伝統的な型の紹介、横浜滞在中に制作する木製の立体作品を交えた独自のパフォーマンスなどによって構成し、詠春拳を複合的に解釈する機会とします。そして、プロジェクト始動後初となる「Murasaki Penguin Project Totsuka (MPPT)」という劇場空間での実施を通じて、今後の新たな方向性を見出すことを模索します。

Yuki Kobayashi「The Wing Chun Project」
“The Wing Chun Project (2019-) is interdisciplinary performance work based on the Southern Chinese Martial Arts “Wing Chun (Ving Tsun)”, that is founded by a female shaolin monk / kung-fu master “Ng Mui” in the history of Shaolin temple and developed to better suit a fighter who does not have the advantage of size and strength, domestic and sexual violences faces to the narrow space. It was further popularised by a grandmaster “Ip Man” who was evacuated from Foshan to Hong Kong due to the Sino-Japanese War and Civil War in China. Note: There are various theories about its origin.”
Yuki Kobayashi, a 2025 ACY Fellow, will be in residence at MPP Totsuka. He will hold a workshop on Saturday, 23rd August and a showing on Sunday 7th September 2025.
1. 「The Wing Chun Project」Workshop
In this workshop, participants will learn about the origins and historical background of Wing Chun while physically experiencing the basic techniques. Participants will also attempt to reinterpret modern Wing Chun not only as a way to learn ‘practical offense and defense self-body training’, but also as ‘a method of communication through physical contact with a partner’.

2. 「The Wing Chun Project」Showing
This showing will share the current status of Kobayashi’s project, which has been building on Wing Chun training and research since 2019. It will feature a lecture tracing past site visits in China and other locations and their interactions, an introduction to traditional forms, and a unique performance incorporating wooden sculptures created during the ACY Fellow residency, providing an opportunity to interpret Wing Chun in a multifaceted way. Furthermore, through its first performance in the theatre space at Murasaki Penguin Project Totsuka (MPPT), the project will explore new directions for the future.
